TL;DR · GPU Physical Design Engineer, STA/Timing

As a GPU Physical Design Engineer, STA/Timing, you will join the Silicon Engineering group to design and manufacture next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors. You will be responsible for the timing closure of highly complex GPU designs, ensuring smooth timing convergence from concept to post silicon validation. Your daily work involves interacting with RTL and architecture teams to define physical design constraints, collaborating with Synthesis and Physical Design teams to optimize for power and performance, and setting up DFT modes. You will assemble top level designs for STA, create automation scripts, and run ECO flows. Required skills include experience in STA, timing closure, and scripting languages like TCL, Python, Perl, and shell scripting. You must also understand cross-talk, OCV, noise, and EDA tool APIs.

What you'll do

  • Provide physical design constraints to backend flows based on RTL and architecture requirements.
  • Implement designs optimized for power, performance, and timing in coordination with Synthesis and Physical Design teams.
  • Set up DFT modes and ensure all test features are properly timed.
  • Assemble top-level designs for STA and review logs and reports to ensure accurate analysis.
  • Create and maintain scripts and automation to generate high-quality STA reports.
  • Run ECO flows and take responsibility for achieving final timing closure.
  • Drive tapeout activities by running a full suite of signoff checks for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with CAD and vendors to improve analysis flows and integrate new features.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in STA, timing closure, or physical design.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, or shell scripting.
  • Master's degree (preferred).
  • Experience working with EDA tools and exposure to their APIs (preferred).
  • Familiarity with STA concepts including cross-talk, OCV, and noise (preferred).
  • Experience in large volume data analysis, identifying timing fixes, and generating ECOs (preferred).
