What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end architecture of high-precision motion stages and their mechatronic subsystems.
  • Translate positioning, dynamic, and throughput requirements into coherent mechanical and control co-designs.
  • Define control system architectures including servo loop topology, sensor selection, and performance targets.
  • Develop dynamic models of stage mechanics to integrate with active vibration isolation and damping strategies.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses on control-loop stability, bandwidth, and thermal/dynamic error sources.
  • Build and qualify prototypes or manage the procurement and testing of components from outsourced suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues including servo instability, vibration, and manufacturing defects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry safety standards such as SEMI S2/S8/S14 and NFPA 79.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in the field are required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system engineering, control theory, and multi-axis motion control for high-precision stages.
  • Hands-on experience with mechatronic co-design including dynamic modeling, control-loop tuning, and active vibration isolation.
  • Familiarity with motion control hardware such as FPGA/DSP systems, drives, amplifiers, and metrology sensors like interferometers.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering for semiconductor capital equipment, including component selection, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards including SEMI S2/S8/S14, NFPA 79, F47, CE, and EMI/EMC.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools like Inventor or Siemens NX and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
