The US Military and Veteran Senior Data Center Support Services Technician joins a dedicated team providing critical infrastructure and foundational technologies within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. This role involves identifying hardware replacement opportunities, validating cabling, and ensuring network connectivity is established across the data center. You will manage work through ticketing systems, mentor less experienced technicians, and serve as a technical liaison to resolve resiliency and availability risks. The position requires expertise in server, storage, and network hardware, including knowledge of RAID, Linux/Unix, and CLI. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring compliance with SOPs and MOPs, and coordinating with vendors to maintain service level agreements. You will work within a hyperscale cloud environment to resolve technical problems while maintaining high standards for safety, security, and infrastructure reliability in a large-scale data center setting.
Identify opportunities for server component upgrades and manage the full hardware lifecycle.
Mentor and coach less experienced technicians on best practices for power distribution and hardware troubleshooting.
Validate cabling, network builds, and connectivity to ensure a stable and error-free environment.
Manage and assign work within a ticketing system while resolving issues within established SLAs.
Enforce adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs).
Act as a technical liaison to identify and resolve risks regarding resiliency, reliability, and availability.
Coordinate with vendors and partners to test and validate electrical and mechanical systems.
Analyze trends and recurring problems to implement process improvements and training for the team.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have 5 years of experience in client-facing support, data centers, or related fields, or the required combination of education and experience.
Applicants must possess 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, data center services, or server administration.
Candidates should have 3 years of experience in hyperscale cloud environments.
Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware systems is required.
Proficiency in IT hardware concepts including RAID, Linux/Unix, and CLI is required.
Data Center or Cloud Industry Certifications are preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb a 9 ft ladder is required.
Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and 10-12 hour shifts.
