Staff Cyber Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Decompose and refine system cybersecurity requirements to drive built-in protections into the architecture and design.
• Guide the security layout and architecture while influencing the selection and development of security tools.
• Evaluate proposed implementations to identify security risks, attack surfaces, and verify that protections are integrated.
• Lead the development of verification efforts to ensure cybersecurity capabilities are functional, effective, and complete.
• Ensure weapon system compliance with contractually obligated standards including CNSSI 1253, DoD 8570, and DoD 8510.
• Propose and design cyber systems architecture changes with full traceability to requirements.
• Perform cyber-attack surface analysis of system designs and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Participate in cybersecurity assessment activities, including reviewing plans, procedures, reports, and penetration test execution.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree with 12 years, Master’s with 10 years, PhD with 8 years, or 18 years of experience in a relevant technical field.
• Must have direct experience utilizing NIST 800-160 system security engineering and the system development life cycle.
• Must have direct experience developing RMF assessment and authorization documentation.
• Must have experience processing SOW, requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and field tests.
• Must possess a current DoD 8570 certification for IASAE Level II (CISSP) and the ability to obtain IASAE Level III within 6 months.
• Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SAP access.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
• Experience with system security architecture, DOORS, CAMEO, and DevSecOps tool suites is preferred.
