Staff Cyber Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Decompose and refine system cybersecurity requirements at all levels to ensure built-in protections are integrated into architecture and design.
• Guide security layout and architecture while influencing the selection and development of security tools.
• Evaluate implemented designs to identify security risks, analyze attack surfaces, and verify that protections are functional and complete.
• Ensure weapon systems comply with contractually obligated cybersecurity standards including CNSSI 1253, DoD 8570, and DoD 8510.
• Propose and design cyber systems architecture changes with full traceability to specific requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight across teams to ensure high-quality product deliveries and successful flight test events.
• Perform cyber-attack surface analysis of system designs and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Participate in cybersecurity assessment activities, including the planning and execution of security penetration tests.

What we're looking for

• Must possess an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret with SAP access.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
• Bachelor's degree with 12 years, Master's with 10 years, or PhD with 8 years of experience in relevant engineering fields.
• 18 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Must have direct experience utilizing NIST 800-160 system security engineering and the system development life cycle.
• Must have direct experience developing RMF assessment and authorization documentation.
• Current DoD 8570 certification for IASAE Level II (CISSP) is required, with ability to obtain Level III within 6 months.
• Experience with systems security architecture and DevSecOps tools like DOORS or CAMEO is preferred.
