Sr Manager, Digital Design and Signal Processing (Lead and Architecture) serves as a key technical and organizational leader within the Digital Design and Signal Processing organization. This role manages a large team of technical leaders and sub-managers while guiding the full system life cycle for complex development efforts from concept through System Integration and Test. The manager is responsible for overseeing project coordination, staffing, and mentoring while driving technical direction for products including Software Defined Radios, Optical Modems, Cryptographic devices, Waveforms, and Electronic Warfare systems. Key responsibilities include managing requirements decomposition for FPGA and HDL solutions, ensuring high-quality technical artifacts, and supporting bid proposals. The role requires expertise in systems engineering processes, risk management, and tools like DOORS or MS Project to solve complex problems in the defense and aerospace domains involving secure development environments and classified programs.
Manage a large team of technical leaders and sub-managers while providing career development, mentoring, and performance reviews.
Guide technical direction and architecture for EW, Optical, Software Defined Radio, and Satellite Communications systems.
Oversee the full system life cycle from concept development and requirements analysis through integration, verification, and deployment.
Coordinate department resources, staffing, and forecasting to meet organizational commitments and project priorities.
Drive technical risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution across development and production efforts.
Ensure the creation of high-quality technical artifacts including specifications, interface control documents, and test plans.
Support bid and proposal efforts by developing basis of estimates, technical volumes, and customer demonstrations.
Establish and enforce disciplined software and HDL engineering processes to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with at least 12 years of experience.
Graduate Degree with at least 10 years of prior related experience.
Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
Minimum of 5 years of technical leadership, functional leadership, or engineering management experience leading cross-disciplinary teams on complex defense or aerospace programs (preferred).
Active Top-Secret clearance, TS/SCI eligibility, or access is strongly desired (preferred).
Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes including requirements management, architecture development, and verification (preferred).
Experience with risk management, earned value or schedule-driven execution, and coordination across internal teams (preferred).
