Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering will join the engineering team to lead the development of advanced communication subsystem hardware and software for multi-segment space, ground, and airborne applications. This role involves managing the full lifecycle from initial concept through implementation, testing, and delivery of high rate, assured, and optical communications. The individual will lead multi-disciplined teams, manage subcontractors, and oversee requirements analysis, design synthesis, and system verification. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in communication theory, digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design for satellite systems. What you'll do

Develop advanced communication subsystem hardware and software for space, ground, and airborne applications.
Lead requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability from customer specifications to system level requirements.
Generate technical documentation including interface control documents, test plans, and verification cross reference matrices.
Manage multi-disciplined engineering teams and subcontractors through the full development lifecycle.
Oversee project management tasks including schedule planning, budget tracking, risk management, and subcontract control.
Lead system integration, verification, and qualification events for new capabilities.
Present technical designs and capabilities to internal stakeholders and external customers during design reviews.
Support new business development by participating in RFIs and RFPs through technical demonstrations.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience, a Graduate Degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Must currently have, and/or be able to maintain, an active U.S. Government DOD Top Secret Clearance.
Experience in requirements management and documentation is required.
Strong communication skills (written and oral) and formal presentation skills are required.
Leadership skills to guide technical direction and contribute to integrated product teams (preferred).
Understanding of communication theory and working knowledge of digital, RF, mechanical, network, or software design (preferred).
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORs, or similar tools (preferred).
