As a Sr. FPGA Engineer on the Amazon Leo for Government Product Development team, you will create FPGA solutions to support satellite communication systems. The role requires proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL; experience with Xilinx Vivado or Microchip Libero; Linux and scripting in Python or Perl; and knowledge of protocols like PCIe or DDR. You will solve complex problems involving digital logic functions to enable advanced satellite communication infrastructure for government customers.

What you'll do

Develop and release FPGA solutions for satellite communication systems through all stages of the design lifecycle.
Write RTL code using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL to implement modem and digital logic functions.
Perform simulation validation, timing closure, and hardware debugging in a laboratory environment.
Integrate new and existing IP cores into FPGA designs using tools like Vivado or Vitis.
Conduct trade-off analyses to optimize system performance regarding cost, size, power, and features.
Validate architecture and design alternatives by implementing digital logic functions in FPGA prototypes.
Bring up and test systems that integrate FPGA, firmware, optics, and networking components.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of digital design experience in communication systems.
7+ years of verification experience in communication systems.
Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL and experience with Xilinx Vivado or Microchip Libero.
Experience with serial protocols (SPI, I2C, I3C, UART) and high-speed interfaces like PCIe or DDR.
Expertise in communication theory, OFDM, MIMO, Digital/Wireless Communication Systems, or RF engineering.
Proficiency in Linux, scripting (Python/Perl), and experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI security clearance.
