The Specialist Systems Engineer joins the IR Sensors business area within the Missile Solutions Segment to support development and production programs. In this role, you will serve as a technical lead or team member performing technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation, and verification. You will conduct analyses across the entire lifecycle, including concept, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Key responsibilities include systems engineering for EO/IR sensor systems, systems evaluation, and complex problem-solving to determine how environmental changes affect performance. Required skills include experience in architecture, specification, simulation, and debugging, alongside knowledge of military and NASA component specifications. The role focuses on solving difficult technical challenges for Electro-Optical/Infra-Red sensor systems and components within a defense context.
Perform systems engineering for Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor systems.
Lead or support technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities.
Conduct systems analysis to determine how environmental changes affect performance and outcomes.
Identify performance indicators and determine actions needed to improve or correct system goals.
Manage technical tasks across the entire system development lifecycle.
Evaluate costs and benefits of potential actions to select the most appropriate technical solutions.
Support IR development and production programs for the Missile Solutions Segment.
What we're looking for
Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for a security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior related experience.
Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated experience within the EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) sensor field (preferred).
Demonstrated experience in a technical discipline supporting EO/IR sensor or component work (preferred).
Experience writing BOEs and supporting proposals (preferred).
