JOB TITLE: Specialist, Systems Engineer
As a Specialist, Systems Engineer within the Space & Airborne Systems division, you will join a technical team supporting the NSTTC-O Range Control System program. Working under a SAFe 6.0 Agile Release Train, you will own core systems engineering documentation and configuration control artifacts, including the Interface Control Document and the Model-Based Systems Engineering model. Your daily responsibilities involve authoring requirements following INCOSE guidance, maintaining the MBSE model using Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML v1/v2, and representing the team at Engineering Review, Configuration Control, and Discrepancy Review Boards. You will coordinate with cross-functional leads in Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Visualization to ensure architectural consistency. This role solves critical range control and data conditioning problems within a government range environment, requiring expertise in DoD systems engineering artifacts like SEP and SEMP.
Author and maintain the Interface Control Document (ICD) to ensure accurate and traceable interface definitions.
Develop and mature the program's Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model using Cameo Systems Modeler or SysML.
Represent Systems Engineering at the Engineering Review Board (ERB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), and Discrepancy Review Board (DRB).
Author and maintain system requirements following INCOSE guidance to ensure quality, traceability, and verification.
Support Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) activities to align documentation with baselines.
Participate in SAFe Agile Release Train activities including PI Planning, backlog refinement, and requirements decomposition.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and government customers to negotiate interface and design solutions.
Support the development and maintenance of DoD systems engineering artifacts such as SEP, SEMP, and TEMP.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or adjacent fields and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Active Top Secret Clearance.
Demonstrated experience authoring and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) on a DoD or government program (preferred).
Hands-on MBSE modeling experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML v1 and/or v2, or equivalent MBSE tooling (preferred).
Experience supporting or chairing configuration and technical governance boards (ERB, CCB, DRB) including change request evaluation and disposition (preferred).
