The Specialist, Systems Engineer joins a team supporting the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex hardware and software systems for ground and airborne communication platforms. This role involves performing technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and subsystems. Key responsibilities include reviewing electrical wiring diagrams, writing verification test procedures, performing requirement traceability, and developing trade studies. The position requires translating customer needs into system level requirements and establishing preliminary designs. Candidates must demonstrate experience with aircraft communication system integration, RF and satellite communications, and cryptographic equipment. Technical competencies include knowledge of LAN and VOIP protocols, IP routing, and mission systems like EO/IR and Video. The work focuses on multi-domain mobile airborne data link, video, and voice systems.
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and subsystems.
Translate customer needs into system-level requirements and perform requirement traceability.
Write subsystem specifications and effective verification test procedures to ensure performance meets requirements.
Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
Develop and evaluate trade studies to establish preliminary system designs and alternative solutions.
Prepare technical presentations to communicate complex information to non-technical professionals.
Support the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of hardware and software for airborne communication platforms.
What we're looking for
Active US Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 4 years of experience testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware in multi-domain mobile airborne data link, video, and voice systems.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with configuration and integration of aircraft RF and satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment.
