As a Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI Data Platform within the Innovative Data Platform team, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor for commercial customers. You will drive technical sales by conducting demos, Proofs of Concept, hackathons, and architecture workshops to accelerate adoption of cloud-native database and analytics applications. Your daily work involves co-designing secure, scalable architectures, resolving technical blockers, and guiding customers through the migration of their data platforms into modern deployment workflows. You will utilize a specialized technology stack including Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance, SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL. Additionally, you will leverage knowledge of on-premise EDW systems like Teradata, Netezza, and Exadata, as well as Hadoop and BI solutions to help customers modernize their data infrastructure in the era of AI.

What you'll do

Drive technical sales using demos and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to influence solution design and production deployments.
Lead hands-on engagements such as hackathons and architecture workshops to accelerate customer adoption of cloud platforms.
Co-design secure, scalable architectures with platform leads to modernize customer data systems.
Resolve technical blockers and objections by collaborating with engineering teams to improve products.
Guide customers through the migration of on-premises databases and analytics into cloud-native workflows.
Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, and various Azure database services.
Represent the company as a thought leader in cloud database and analytics communities and forums.

What we're looking for

Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Applicants must have 3+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, or a relevant degree with at least 1-2 years of experience.
Preferred candidates possess 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or technology delivery.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructure, architecture designs, and migrations.
Experience is preferred in data warehouse and big data migration involving on-prem appliances like Teradata, Netezza, or Oracle.
Knowledge of Hadoop (Cloudera, Hortonworks) and Azure Synapse Gen2 is preferred.
Candidates should possess deep knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, and various Azure databases.
Experience with on-prem EDW systems like Teradata, Netezza, or Exadata is desired.
