The Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI Data Platform joins the Innovative Data Platform team to support commercial customers. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping enterprises modernize their data platforms by designing secure, scalable architectures and accelerating migrations into cloud-native workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include driving technical sales through demos and Proof of Concepts, leading hackathons and architecture workshops, and resolving technical blockers with engineering teams. You will utilize a deep knowledge of the Analytics Portfolio, including Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance, and Azure Databases like SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL. Additionally, you will leverage experience with on-prem EDW systems such as Teradata, Netezza, Exadata, and Hadoop to solve complex database and analytics problems.

What you'll do

Drive technical sales by conducting demos and Proof of Concepts to influence solution design.
Lead hands-on engagements including hackathons and architecture workshops to accelerate platform adoption.
Co-design secure and scalable cloud architectures with platform leads and customers.
Resolve technical blockers and objections by collaborating with engineering teams to improve products.
Guide customers through database and analytics migrations into their production deployment workflows.
Maintain deep technical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and various Azure Databases.
Represent the company as a thought leader in cloud database and analytics communities.

What we're looking for

Must have 3+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field and 2+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field and 1+ year of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
Must have valid authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.
Must maintain deep knowledge in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, and Azure Databases like SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.
Must maintain and grow knowledge in on-prem EDW (Teradata, Netezza, Exadata), Hadoop, and BI solutions.
5+ years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery experience (preferred).
3+ years of experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructure, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management (preferred).
Experience in data warehouse and big data migration including on-prem appliances and Azure Synapse Gen2 (preferred).
