The Software Agile Product Owner Level 3 or 4 (AHT) joins the Aurora Software and Electronics/Payloads Department to support a critical national security mission involving both development and operations. This role serves as a technical leader within an agile scrum team, overseeing software efforts for the NG Space Sector business. The Product Owner will manage software development tasks, write basis-of-estimates for software efforts, and drive work to successful completion. Key requirements include at least three years of Java software development experience, one year of agile software team leadership, and proficiency with Jira. The position requires making data-driven decisions, writing technical documentation, and communicating with program management. The role addresses complex national security problems within a fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Lead software development efforts as a Product Owner within an agile scrum team.
Manage the product backlog and drive work to successful completion on time.
Use Jira to track development tasks and manage team leadership responsibilities.
Write basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for various software development efforts and proposals.
Create and maintain technical documentation for the program.
Communicate and present project status and technical details to program management and customers.
Make data-driven decisions to improve product quality and team productivity.
What we're looking for
Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have at least 3 years of Java software development experience.
Must have at least 1 year of Agile software team leadership experience.
Must have experience using Jira as a developer and in a team leadership capacity.
Must have experience working proposals and writing basis-of-estimates for software efforts.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience, 3+ years with a Master's, or 9+ years in lieu of a degree (Principal).
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience, 5+ years with a Master's, or 12+ years in lieu of a degree (Sr. Principal).
Ability to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar (preferred).
Prior experience as a Product Owner (preferred).
Prior experience working within an Agile Release Train (preferred).
Skill making data-driven decisions (preferred).
Ability to motivate, lead, and drive work to successful completion on time (preferred).
Ability to effectively communicate and present to program management and customers (preferred).
Ability to effectively write technical documentation (preferred).
Ability to travel 1 to 4 short trips per year (preferred).
