The Agile Product Owner - Level 3 joins the Threat Products and Services team within the Threat and Advanced Simulations Development program. This role involves guiding a multidisciplinary team of systems engineers, analysts, test engineers, and software developers to plan, design, develop, test, and document feature capabilities. The individual will manage requirements development, prioritize the team backlog, and coordinate with the operational, simulation, and user communities to deploy enhancements for existing and new applications. Key responsibilities include providing technical briefings to leadership and stakeholders. Required skills include expertise in Agile software development methodologies, including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and proficiency in the Atlassian Tool Suite. The role focuses on developing modeling and simulation applications used for training, exercise, concept evaluation, and developmental engineering within the U.S. Missile Defense System’s Enterprise Threat Engineering organization.
Guide and support teams of engineers and developers to plan, design, develop, test, and document feature capabilities.
Develop detailed requirements for modeling and simulation applications used in training and evaluation.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure effective software development cycles.
Document technical capabilities and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Coordinate with operational, simulation, and user communities to design and deploy new features.
Interface with customers and provide technical briefings to leadership and stakeholders.
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems and applications.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience, Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year of related experience.
Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.
Experience in Agile Software Development Methodologies and maintaining team backlogs.
Experience in developing and maintaining requirements and technical documentation.
Basic understanding of object-oriented software development.
Ability to work independently and in a team while communicating effectively in high-pressure environments.
Must possess an active, in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
Proficiency in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), SAFe or other Product Owner certifications, Atlassian Tool Suite, and missile defense experience (preferred).
