The Staff Agile Product Owner joins the Payload & Ground Software Engineering organization to support a ground program. This role serves as an inward-facing technical planning and execution lead, establishing a strategic vision for the software team’s technical roadmap and the closure of epics. The individual will represent product management and customer interests, collaborating to define work, prioritizing key areas during program increments, and ensuring the team understands feature requirements and acceptance criteria. Core responsibilities include converting technical and business requirements into epics, features, and user stories while conducting product demos. Required skills include experience with software Agile delivery frameworks, product lifecycles, and the Atlassian tool suite. The role requires technical experience developing and fielding command and control systems, such as TT&C and Flight Dynamics, for Space Systems.
Set the strategic vision for the technical execution of the software team.
Serve as the primary authority over the team’s technical roadmap and the closure of epics.
Convert technical and business requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories.
Prioritize key areas of work during program increments and dictate team backlog priorities.
Ensure the development team understands the intent and requirements of feature and user story definitions.
Represent customer interests and the voice of the customer to the Agile development team.
Conduct software product demos for users, leadership, and other stakeholders.
Align the team on all acceptance criteria for software development tasks.
What we're looking for
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's, 10 years with a Master's, 8 years with a PhD, 14 years with an Associate's, or 16 years with a High School diploma.
Must have 3+ years of experience working in a software Agile delivery framework.
Must have 3+ years of experience with product lifecycles for new and existing products.
Must have 2+ years of product roadmap development experience.
Must have experience converting requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories, and experience with the Atlassian tool suite.
