The Senior Silicon Reliability Engineer joins the product engineering group within the silicon development organization to support the Amazon Leo initiative. You will utilize skills in semiconductor product engineering, foundry process operations, and wireless SoC manufacturing to estimate FIT rates and MTBF. The work focuses on identifying reliability risks, debugging failures from qual stresses, and developing ATE test programs to ensure hardware durability for low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity in space.

What you'll do

Define qualification plans for custom ASICs based on system specs and mission profiles.
Identify reliability risks from foundry reports and develop de-risking strategies for product qualification.
Collaborate with packaging teams to incorporate package design and BoM choices into qualification plans.
Design, fabricate, and debug burn-in boards for SoC and multi-chip module qualification.
Develop ATE test programs and activation profiles for qualification stresses in coordination with design teams.
Estimate FIT rates and MTBF for ASIC components to perform system-level reliability analysis.
Identify root causes for failures during qualification and drive necessary fixes.
Publish detailed qualification reports documenting completion for all upstream and downstream partners.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience in semiconductor product engineering or foundry process operations.
Experience in high-volume wireless SoC devices manufacturing (preferred).
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering or related field (preferred).
Excellent oral and written communications skills (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Ability to travel up to 20% domestically or internationally.
