Post Silicon Engineer, Amazon LEO As a Post Silicon Engineer on the Amazon LEO team, you will work on cutting-edge silicon engineered to operate in the harsh environment of space. You will be responsible for bringing up, validating, and characterizing MODEM SOC components, including Embedded Processors, PLL, SRAM, DDR, and SERDES. Your daily responsibilities involve defining and maintaining validation plans, designing test platforms, and owning test automation for high-speed interfaces and other peripherals. You will drive system-level debugs alongside design, architecture, and manufacturing teams while working in FPGA, emulators, and DV environments. Required skills include experience with I2C, SPI, I3C, and eMMC protocols; proficiency with benchtop instruments like oscilloscopes and signal generators; and programming knowledge in Python and Embedded C. You will also utilize JTAG-based debuggers to program and debug embedded processors for satellite hardware products.

What you'll do

Define and maintain validation and characterization plans for the MODEM SOC and its peripherals.
Design and bring up SOC test platforms to support hardware evaluation.
Develop and manage automated test benches for high-speed interfaces and other peripherals.
Perform system-level debugging in collaboration with design, architecture, and manufacturing teams.
Utilize FPGAs and emulators to ensure successful chip bring-up.
Validate and characterize embedded processors, PLLs, SRAM, DDR, and SERDES components.
Conduct power analysis and characterization for the MODEM SOC.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee for export control compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Bring Up, Validation, and characterization of SOC or ASIC.
Familiarity with protocols such as I2C, SPI, I3C, and eMMC.
Experience using benchtop instruments including Power Supplies, DMMs, High Speed Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, and DAQs.
Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Embedded C.
Familiarity using Lauterbach or other JTAG-based debuggers to program and debug Embedded Processors.
Experience validating high-speed interfaces (SERDES, DDR), power analysis, and signal/power integrity.
