As a Senior Silicon Engineer on the Data Processing Unit team, you will validate silicon to solve complex problems within a datacenter environment. You will collaborate with the architecture team to develop programmable silicon implementations and own the verification of complex flows at the SOC, subsystem, or IP levels. Your daily responsibilities include developing verification environments, running and debugging simulations, applying random-stimulus and coverage-based techniques, and performing both pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation. The role requires expertise in UVM/C test benches, Verilog, SystemVerilog, and the UVM methodology. You will also work with networking blocks including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and MAC/PCS. This position focuses on creating a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC designed to efficiently handle large data streams as an alternative to traditional CPU-based solutions for infrastructure performance.
Validate silicon to solve complex problems within a datacenter environment.
Own verification of complex flows at the SOC, subsystem, or IP levels using UVM/C test benches.
Collaborate with architecture and partner teams to define verification strategies and test plans.
Develop verification environments and run simulations to ensure high product quality.
Apply random-stimulus and coverage-based techniques to identify bugs and meet test plan goals.
Create stress and performance scenarios to debug failures and validate system capabilities.
Perform both pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation by defining specific testing strategies.
What we're looking for
A Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 1+ year of experience; or a Master's degree and 4+ years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM methodology (preferred).
5+ years of RTL verification using UVM/C verification methodology (preferred).
Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, MAC/PCS, and networking blocks (preferred).
Proven track record with the verification and development of complex SoCs (preferred).
In-depth understanding of processors and peripheral interconnect bus protocols and architectures (preferred).
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team (preferred).
