As a Senior Embedded Engineer on the Advanced Infrared Solutions team, you will design new product lines for high-performance cooled infrared cameras and subsystems. Technical requirements include experience with AXI protocols, SERDES, DDR memory, and Python or MATLAB. The role focuses on the development of critical infrared components and subsystems to solve complex imaging challenges within the defense and space sectors.

What you'll do

Lead FPGA architecture, standards, development, and review processes for new product lines.
Design, architect, simulate, and integrate VHDL designs into FPGAs or Systems on Chip (SoC).
Optimize algorithms for hardware acceleration including MIPS optimization and AXI bus protocols.
Integrate firmware with overall systems including processor bring-up and board support packages.
Develop robust test benches in VHDL/Verilog to validate designs against functional specifications.
Perform rigorous testing using lab tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Manage the full product lifecycle from initial design and analysis to ground and flight testing.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices.
Expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design.
Experience with industry-standard FPGA design tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.
Strong hardware/software debugging skills using standard lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
