The Senior Data Center Operator joins the team to manage and maintain Oracle-owned liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure within colocation leased data halls. This role focuses on the daily operation of high-density compute environments, where the individual will perform rack intake, connect racks to Technology Cooling System loops, and operate Cooling Distribution Units. Key responsibilities include conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, managing incident responses, and coordinating with vendors for equipment repairs. The candidate must possess hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, UPS systems, and switchgear. Proficiency in using CMMS, DCIM, BMS, or EPMS tools is preferred to manage infrastructure changes. This role solves the critical challenge of ensuring reliable cooling and power for high-density computing infrastructure while maintaining strict safety and quality standards in a mission-critical production environment.
Operate and maintain liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure within colocation data halls.
Manage rack intake activities including receiving, staging, inspecting, and preparing racks for deployment.
Connect server racks to the Technology Cooling System (TCS) loop following safety and quality standards.
Monitor and maintain Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) through routine inspections and alarm responses.
Perform commissioning, startup, shutdown, and recovery activities for liquid cooling infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors for planned maintenance, corrective work, and emergency repairs.
Manage operational incidents by performing triage, escalation, documentation, and post-incident follow-up.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, rack deployments, and infrastructure changes.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have 3 to 5+ years of experience in data center, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or mission-critical facilities infrastructure.
Required hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including cooling systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, CDUs, CRAHs, and electrical distribution.
Experience is required in incident response, troubleshooting, escalation, and operational recovery.
Ability to coordinate work with vendors, contractors, colocation providers, and internal technical teams.
Must be able to follow technical procedures, safety protocols, change controls, and maintenance documentation.
Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking is required.
Ability to lift, carry, move, or assist with data center equipment as required by site procedures.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
