Program Manager 2 - Targets and Interceptors will join the Targets and Interceptors Operating Unit within the Launch Systems Business Unit. This role is responsible for managing and growing the Next Generation Interceptor scope while securing and managing Golden Dome for America business and related program efforts. The manager will oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance, leading cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements. Daily responsibilities include tracking program requirements, managing supplier deliverables, utilizing Earned Value Management systems, and overseeing manufacturing and test facility readiness. Key tasks involve developing budget baselines, managing risk, and coordinating with the Global Supply Chain for contract negotiations. The role requires expertise in missile defense systems, launch vehicle development, and solid rocket motor programs. Essential skills include technical leadership, coalition building, and experience managing large, fixed-price or cost-plus contracts within the aerospace domain.
Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance for the NGI and GDA programs.
Lead cross-functional teams to satisfy customer requirements and integrate internal and external partners.
Track and close program requirements while managing supplier deliverables to meet budget commitments.
Monitor and report program performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) and master schedule controls.
Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, and testing.
Oversee manufacturing and test facility setup to ensure timely completion of build objectives.
Develop and maintain program budgets, cost baselines, and workforce resource plans.
Manage risk, change control, and contract scope compliance in partnership with the chief engineer.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or project management; OR a Master's degree with 7 years of experience.
4 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, and meeting all requirements as a project lead or manager.
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills to communicate complex concepts to senior leadership.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Active Secret Clearance is required at the time of application.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Master’s degree in business or engineering (preferred); knowledge of Missile Defense Agency and legacy systems (preferred).
