The Principal / Sr. Principal Cyber Software Test Engineer joins a cross-functional engineering team to test mission-critical software applications across diverse platforms including Windows, Linux, and Android. Working in an agile environment, the engineer validates software requirements through functional, usability, performance, security, compatibility, and regression testing while ensuring seamless integration with wireless services and custom hardware systems. Key responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, troubleshooting system failures, and collaborating with developers to resolve defects. The role requires proficiency in computer hardware, software systems, and translating user stories into functional test plans. Preferred technical skills include writing automation scripts in Python or JavaScript, testing mobile applications on Android devices, using tools like SmartBear TestComplete, navigating UNIX command lines, and utilizing agile management software such as Jira or Microsoft Azure DevOps to support the iterative development of complex products.
Test mission-critical software applications across Windows, Linux, and Android platforms.
Validate software requirements through functional, usability, performance, security, and regression testing.
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for software systems.
Translate user stories into functional test plans while analyzing the testability of requirements.
Troubleshoot and isolate system failures to identify and document defects for developer resolution.
Configure hardware and software test equipment to ensure proper integration with wireless services.
Demonstrate software capabilities to key stakeholders at the completion of development sprints.
Communicate risks and technical issues to management to facilitate timely project resolutions.
What we're looking for
Candidate must currently have an active Secret security clearance or higher.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master’s with 3 years, PhD with 1 year, or 9 years of experience is required for the Principal level.
A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s with 6 years, PhD with 4 years, or 12 years of experience is required for the Sr. Principal level.
Experience with diverse software and hardware testing methods throughout the development lifecycle is required.
Proficiency in translating requirements and user stories into functional test plans is required.
Strong analytical skills to identify, characterize, and isolate issues while troubleshooting are required.
An active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph, automation scripting (Python, JavaScript), and experience with mobile apps or Agile tools are preferred.
