The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems team is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer to support a program within the Signals Intelligence Mission Solutions Department. In this role, you will develop and deliver software to meet mission partner requirements while creating user and developer-level documentation. You will set technical direction, collaborate on process improvements, and prioritize development efforts to integrate new requirements. Key technical skills include proficiency in C#, C, and C++, along with experience using the .NET Framework on Windows and PowerShell. Candidates should have experience in Agile software development and the software development life cycle. The work involves solving complex technical problems within the signals intelligence domain to provide secure, integrated, and multi-domain systems for global security environments.

What you'll do

  • Develop and deliver software to meet specific mission partner requirements.
  • Create comprehensive user and developer-level documentation for software products.
  • Set the team’s technical direction based on operational requirements and sponsor roadmaps.
  • Review and improve development, testing, governance, and stakeholder interaction processes.
  • Communicate project status, roadblocks, and technical proposals to stakeholders.
  • Prioritize development efforts in coordination with mission partners.
  • Define the complexity, scope, and resources required to integrate new requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in Science; 3 years with a Master’s; 1 year with a PhD.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in Science; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD.
  • Proficient in C# and C/C++.
  • Experience developing using .NET Framework on Windows and with PowerShell.
  • Experience developing software on Agile teams with knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience with embedded systems, reverse engineering tools, x64 assembly, kernel-level development, Python, or Azure DevOps (preferred).
