Principal Engineer, Core Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Architect and develop scalable distributed systems that support horizontal and vertical scaling using distributed state management tools.
• Optimize code and data paths for high-throughput, hyper-scale workloads and large-scale data processing.
• Design fault-tolerant components featuring redundancy, replication, and automatic failover to ensure system durability and availability.
• Implement mechanisms to handle network unreliability, including load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting to meet strict SLOs.
• Build telemetry systems, custom dashboards, and alerting mechanisms to proactively monitor system health and performance.
• Design complex validation scenarios such as fault injection and brownouts to ensure system correctness.
• Proactively diagnose and resolve production issues while mentoring peers on troubleshooting and incident response.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools to manage cloud infrastructure, patching, and rollbacks.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Requires 3 to 5+ years of experience in relevant fields.
• Experience designing and architecting scalable, elastic distributed systems with high-throughput requirements.
• Expertise in building fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, failover, and load-shedding techniques.
• Ability to design complex validation scenarios including fault injection and brownouts for system correctness.
• Proficiency in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation for cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience implementing robust security controls, encryption, and compliance documentation for multi-tenant environments.
• Proven ability to mentor peers and lead technical projects through the full lifecycle from design to production.
