Principal Engineer, Core Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Architect and develop scalable, elastic distributed systems that support high-throughput and hyper-scale workloads.
• Design fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, and automatic failover to ensure system reliability.
• Implement mechanisms for handling network unreliability, including load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
• Establish KPIs and build complex dashboards and alerting systems to monitor infrastructure health.
• Design and execute complex validation tests, such as fault injection and brownouts, to ensure data integrity.
• Proactively diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues while mentoring peers in incident response.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools for safe patching, updates, and rollbacks.
• Implement robust security controls and maintain compliance documentation for multi-tenant environments.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in relevant fields.
• Experience designing and architecting scalable, elastic distributed systems with high-throughput requirements.
• Expertise in building fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, failover, and load-shedding techniques.
• Ability to design complex validation scenarios including fault injection and brownouts for system correctness.
• Proficiency in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools for cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience implementing security controls, encryption, and compliance documentation in multi-tenant environments.
• Proven ability to mentor peers and provide technical oversight on complex projects.
