TL;DR · Experienced Process Integration Engineer

Planar Nodes, Experienced Process Integration Engineer will join the Samsung Foundry PIE team as a product owner responsible for managing the transition from first silicon fab-in to final package. The role involves driving new product introductions by verifying IP, checking margin of customer sample lots, and ensuring successful product qualification. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing EDS/ET and process-parameter data to resolve yield degradations, identifying trends in high-volume production data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like DFM, Test, and Module QnR. Key technical requirements include proficiency in data mining, statistical analysis, and advanced diagnostics using layout viewers for DRC review. Candidates should possess experience in NPI and technology qualification while utilizing Python, C, or Java for automation scripts. The role addresses complex yield and defect challenges within advanced semiconductor manufacturing to ensure robust performance across various product offerings.

What you'll do

  • Drive new product introductions by verifying IP, checking lot margins, and ensuring on-time product qualification.
  • Analyze EDS, ET, and process data to distinguish between wafer-sort anomalies and process-related yield degradations.
  • Develop yield learning models based on wafer sort or final test data to identify root causes and implement countermeasures.
  • Resolve complex yield and defect challenges by leveraging high-volume production data and innovative mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor mass-production performance to root-cause systematic issues and address processing abnormalities.
  • Manage change points in the review board process to minimize risk and ensure successful implementation of improvements.
  • Address customer quality feedback and claims promptly to resolve issues and build customer confidence.
  • Create professional presentations to communicate technical data and results at executive and customer meetings.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis using various data sources.
  • Proficiency in mapping wafer sort bin and parametric data to fab electrical test results and in-line SPC/FDC data.
  • Ability to utilize advanced diagnostics, including layout viewers and knowledge of DRC review.
  • Knowledge of different failure analysis and metrology techniques for developing data collection plans.
  • Proven track record in new product introduction (NPI) and advanced semiconductor technology node bring-up and qualification.
  • In-depth understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and their impact on electrical performance.
  • Ability to develop, modify, or maintain automation scripts using Python, C, or Java is highly advantageous.
  • Must be authorized to access information subject to U.S. export control laws.
