As a Memory Hardware Engineer II within the Azure Memory & Storage Center of Excellence, you will support first-party silicon products by providing innovative solutions for memory reliability, performance, and sustainability. You will define memory supportability requirements for Azure platforms, including validation, reliability, and serviceability deliverables. Your daily work involves identifying gaps in platform design and telemetry while partnering with silicon, firmware, and operating-system teams to evaluate trade-offs and improve readiness. You will manage specific memory workstreams, using data-informed recommendations to resolve recurring issues and optimize cost and performance. The role requires expertise in memory subsystems like DDR or LPDDR, interpreting schematics and datasheets, and utilizing C, C++, Python, or PowerShell for automation. You will solve critical hardware challenges by analyzing validation results and telemetry to ensure high-quality infrastructure for cloud systems.
Define memory supportability requirements for Azure first-party silicon platforms including validation and reliability.
Identify gaps in platform design, telemetry, and operations to drive technical improvements or workarounds.
Collaborate with firmware, OS, and silicon teams to evaluate trade-offs and improve platform readiness.
Manage assigned memory workstreams by providing data-informed recommendations and communicating risks.
Analyze validation results and reliability data to resolve recurring issues and improve product quality.
Optimize memory products for better performance, cost, and delivery readiness.
What we're looking for
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years technical engineering experience.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Must provide proof of citizenship or U.S. permanent residency for export control eligibility assessment.
3+ years technical engineering experience in a memory-related field (preferred).
Experience with memory subsystems and interfaces, including interpreting device specifications, schematics, and datasheets (preferred).
Experience using C, C++, Python, or PowerShell to automate hardware validation, data collection, analysis, or troubleshooting (preferred).
Experience with data analytics, data collection/aggregation, and dashboarding (preferred).
