As a Materials Scientist 4 within the Deposition Product Group Materials Science & Technology Group, you will drive engineering development to deliver superior solutions through systematic empirical and modeling efforts. You will lead programs in materials science, engineering, chemistry, physics, mechanics, and fabrication methods to develop novel materials and surface treatments for semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment. Your daily responsibilities include conducting accelerated life testing, materials characterization, and failure analysis to determine hardware lifetime and define system operational boundaries. To succeed, you must possess expertise in metallurgy, electrochemistry, and mechanical property testing while utilizing structured experimental design, small sample size statistics, and statistical methods. You will work within cross-functional teams to solve complex problems involving thermal-mechanical-chemical stresses, ensuring the development of robust hardware for use in demanding environmental operating conditions within the semiconductor industry.
