The Materials AI/ML Specialist will join the R&D team to accelerate new product development in formulation science. This role involves applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to modernize how experiments are planned, run, and analyzed for liquid adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive formulations. Key responsibilities include performing hands-on formulation, mechanical, and performance testing to generate high-quality data, while using statistical and machine learning approaches to extract technical insights. Candidates should possess skills in Python, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas. The work focuses on solving technical challenges in materials discovery by balancing lab-based innovation with digital tools for experiment planning and knowledge capture across multiple concurrent development programs.
Apply AI/ML methods like Bayesian optimization and active learning to accelerate experimental planning for new adhesive formulations.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Three years of experience in new product development, formulation, or experimental/lab work.
Two years of experience using AI/ML or data science tools within experimental or lab work.
Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Five or more years of hands-on new product development or formulation experience (preferred).
Hands-on experience with adhesive, PSA, tape, coating, or polymer formulation and mechanical testing (preferred).
Familiarity with Bayesian optimization, active learning, surrogate modeling, or other sequential/statistical design-of-experiments techniques (preferred).
Working knowledge of Python and common ML/data science libraries such as PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas (preferred).
