What you'll do

Design and develop Kafka-based data pipelines and messaging solutions for real-time data processing.
Configure, deploy, and monitor Kafka clusters across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
Implement security measures including SSL wire encryption, SASL/LDAP authentication, and Kafka ACLs.
Manage Kafka Connect clusters and connector deployments to facilitate data integration.
Perform performance tuning, infrastructure planning, and upgrades for existing Kafka clusters.
Automate daily operations using shell scripting, Ansible, and Terraform to reduce manual effort.
Provision cloud resources including EC2 instances, EBS volumes, security groups, and load balancing.
Diagnose and resolve technical errors and vulnerabilities to ensure system reliability and uptime.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3 years of experience in any Kafka systems administration role.
Experience performing Kafka cluster builds including design, infrastructure planning, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery.
Experience implementing wire encryption (SSL), authentication (SASL/LDAP), and authorization (Kafka ACLs).
Experience creating Kafka Connect clusters and managing schemas with a schema registry.
Experience maintaining Kafka clusters through upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring setup, and feature additions.
Proficiency in provisioning resources in AWS or Azure including EC2 instances, EBS volumes, and security groups.
Proficiency in automation using shell scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
