Systems Analysis Senior Advisor – Product & Automation

Job Summary

The Systems Analysis Senior Advisor – Product & Automation serves as a senior, hybrid role combining Business Product Ownership, Technical Product Ownership, and Systems Analysis to support automation initiatives within PBM / Benefit Automation. This role is responsible for translating complex business, regulatory, and operational needs into high‑quality technical solutions, while leading delivery execution in partnership with onshore and offshore teams. The ideal candidate operates independently, manages competing priorities, and owns outcomes across the full delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Business Analysis

• Act as a Business Product Owner (BPO) for automation initiatives, owning business intent, scope, prioritization, and delivery outcomes
• Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate business, operational, and regulatory requirements
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Make informed trade‑off decisions balancing scope, risk, timelines, and business value
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations, and technical teams

Technical Product Ownership & Delivery

• Function as a Technical Product Owner (TPO), collaborating closely with developers, architects, and QA
• Support solution design by providing functional and technical input aligned to system architecture
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release readiness, and production validation activities
• Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and delivery blockers across teams
• Support testing, defect triage, and post‑release validation to ensure solution quality

Systems Analysis & Technical Documentation

• Develop and maintain high‑quality functional and technical documentation
• Document business rules, data mappings, automation logic, and system behaviors
• Ensure documentation supports development, QA, operations, audit, and long‑term maintainability
• Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation standards and delivery practices

Offshore Team & Vendor Management

• Provide day‑to‑day oversight of offshore development and administrative consulting resources
• Assign and prioritize work to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery
• Review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and alignment to requirements
• Coordinate across time zones to maintain delivery velocity and operational continuity
• Act as an escalation point for delivery, resourcing, and access issues

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, product ownership, or related technical roles
• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, data mapping, and business rules
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience serving in a hybrid Business Product Owner / Technical Product Owner role
• PBM, healthcare, or regulated industry experience
• Familiarity with automation platforms, ETL processes, and system integrations
• Experience working with offshore or distributed delivery teams
• Experience supporting compliance‑sensitive or audit‑driven initiatives

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in application development, including experience working on enterprise-scale systems
• Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js/JavaScript, Python, RESTful APIs, JSON, Oracle, and MySQL
• Proven ability to design and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and scalability
• Extensive experience developing and supporting applications in Linux environments, including shell scripting
• Experience contributing to architecture discussions and leading or influencing technical decisions
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Clear, confident communication skills and a passion for building intuitive, user-first applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins, Okta, and modern CI/CD pipelines

POSITION SUMMARY: We seek a dedicated and visionary leader to assume the role of CIO, Corporate Functions. This individual will be responsible for advancing growth, innovation, and organizational value. The CIO, Corporate Functions, will partner closely with Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, PBS, and Pharmacy to harness technology capabilities in support of an integrated, innovation-driven strategy and roadmap that optimizes operations and enhances enterprise value.​

This role will also play a key leadership role in evolving a globally integrated technology workforce and delivery model, ensuring the right mix of talent, capabilities, and locations to support scalability, resilience, and long‑term business needs. In addition, the CIO will collaborate closely with peer CIOs to develop market‑leading capabilities that benefit both Corporate Functions and the broader enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITES​:

• Apply knowledge of the healthcare sector, enterprise strategy, and new technologies to work with business units to enhance existing solutions and identify opportunities for value. This includes tasks related to strategic decisions, operating models, vision, prioritization, resource allocation, build-or-buy choices, trade-offs, investments, and funding.​
• Lead a globally-distributed team exceeding 1,200 technologists (contractors and full-time employees), focusing on developing talent, strengthening leadership, and optimizing team structures across regions to support skill development, capability building, leadership growth, and operational processes in pursuit of strategic objectives.
• Partner with the Technology Senior Leadership Team to shape and execute a globally integrated workforce strategy, expanding access to diverse talent sources while maintaining appropriate balance across regions and preserving critical capabilities and leadership continuity.
• Guide the evolution of global delivery and operating models, determining how technology capabilities should be strategically distributed and scaled to support future-state business needs, while ensuring continuity, performance, and strong collaboration across U.S. and international teams.
• Collaborate across business and technology teams to align on architecture, data, and digital capabilities, with attention to scalability, quality, user experience, efficiency, and effectiveness.​
• Promote the implementation and integration of AI and machine learning technologies to enhance innovation, operational efficiency, and the development of new business models within Corporate Functions; collaborate with the AI Center of Enablement and cross-functional teams to expand enterprise AI capabilities while ensuring their use remains responsible, secure, and ethical.​
• Executive accountability for enterprise rebates processing, specifically the client and pharma manufacturer lifecycle across contracting, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and integrated data visibility that protects margin and enables scalable commercial programs. ​
• Coordinate with P/L leadership to adjust and prioritize ongoing and future initiatives to maintain alignment with both enterprise and technology strategies. ​
• Support CIO in Executive Leadership Team and Board presentations and engagements, ensuring strategic, roadmap, and delivery alignment and clarity.

CRITICAL TECHNOLOGY COMPENTENCIES​:

The Corporate Functions CIO must be business-focused, solution-driven, and experienced in developing and supporting technology systems.  The following abilities are required:​

• Expertise with AI/ML platforms, generative AI technologies, and automation frameworks; skilled in developing AI-proficient teams and promoting a culture focused on ongoing innovation and knowledge advancement.​
• Comprehensive knowledge of DevSecOps practices and technologies, including Agile methodology and environment.​
• Experience with evaluating emerging technologies and recommending potential partnerships that provide efficiencies and competitive advantage.​
• Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architectures, as well as modern data modeling and data architecture practices.​
• Experience with reusable asset development (ie. prototypes, POCs, and MVPs), cloud engineering and cloud-native design, messaging frameworks, API development, modern UI/UX design practices, container management, and industry standard programming languages.​
• Understanding of non-functional requirements and their importance to solution design.​

QUALIFICATIONS:​

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred.​
• 15 + years of experience in technology leadership, including substantial healthcare experience.​
• Background in various information technology disciplines.​
• Experience in strategic and transformational leadership, with a focus on team alignment and execution.​
• Proven P/L leadership and the ability to prioritize investment decisions for future strategies while managing near-term costs.​
• Ability to apply knowledge of the healthcare landscape to achieve strategic goals, including capability development and recommendations for partnerships or M&A.​
• Skilled at explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences, influencing stakeholders, vendors, and clients.​
• Willingness and capacity to learn new and emerging business models and technologies.​
• Proficient in vendor management.​
• Experience in recruiting, motivating, and developing globally integrated technology teams, balancing capabilities to support scale, speed, and resilience.
• Strong relationship management skills, fostering productive partnerships with technology and business leaders as well as external partners.​

Role Summary: The Chief Architect is a senior enterprise technology leader responsible for shaping and evolving the enterprise architecture, AI enablement strategy, and platform ecosystem that power The Cigna Group’s evolved strategy and long‑term growth. This role serves as a strategic advisor to the CIO and influences enterprise direction while ensuring architectural decisions translate into scalable, secure, and consumer‑centric execution across a large and growing global footprint. The Chief Architect is a strategic leader and systems thinker, helping define how the organization operates, innovates, and grows through technology, data, and AI. This position independently interfaces with key senior leader level stakeholders from all business segments, delivery organizations and functional areas of Technology and the Business lines. The Chief Architect is a key member of the Technology & Operations Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the EVP Technology & Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and evolve the enterprise technology, data, and AI architecture to enable a unified, consumer‑centric experience and support long‑term business objectives across The Cigna Group.​
