As a Hardware Design Engineer on the High-End Routing hardware team, you will develop high-performance board designs for next-generation networking hardware, including access switches, service provider routers, and AI infrastructure. You will manage the full lifecycle of board design, performing complex debugging, schematic and layout verification, and root-cause analysis for signal integrity issues or power rail instabilities. Your daily work involves designing multi-layer PCBs with high-speed serial links and advanced power delivery networks while executing test plans and leading design reviews for BOMs and routing. You will utilize tools such as Concept, Allegro, and LTspice, while potentially using Python or Perl for automation. The role focuses on solving complex hardware challenges in the networking space, specifically addressing signal integrity, board-mounted power distribution, and integrating components like DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs, FPGAs, and CPLDs into robust systems.
Design high-performance multi-layer PCBs for next-generation networking hardware including routers and AI infrastructure.
Manage the full lifecycle of board design, including schematic capture and layout verification.
Perform root-cause analysis on complex hardware failures such as signal integrity issues and power rail instabilities.
Develop and execute test plans for new designs while documenting procedures and specifications for the engineering team.
Lead design reviews for schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and routing using internal automation tools.
Perform and review failure analysis (FA) and corrective action reports to improve product reliability.
Resolve hardware issues using high-speed equipment like oscilloscopes, VNAs, and logic analyzers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering plus 5 years of related experience or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering plus 3 years of related experience.
Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout oversight for high-complexity systems.
Experience with hardware debugging using high-speed tools such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, or logic analyzers.
Experience with industry-standard hardware design suites like Concept, Allegro, LTspice, or similar.
Automation skills using Python or Perl (preferred).
Experience with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, and I2C (preferred).
Experience designing systems with DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs, storage products, signal integrity issues, power distribution, or programmable devices like FPGAs and CPLDs (preferred).
