As a Hardware Systems Engineer - Board Design within the Silicon Validation Hardware team, you will contribute to the development of next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chip processors. Your daily responsibilities include developing specifications from cross-functional requirements, performing schematic capture, and managing circuit design, layout constraints, and simulations. You will execute board bring-up, testing, and characterization while debugging complex system-level problems. Key technical tasks involve FPGA and CPLD development, power and signal integrity analysis, and high-speed interface design. You must utilize Verilog or VHDL for RTL experience and operate lab equipment like scopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Proficiency in test automation using Perl, Tcl, or Python is required to solve technical challenges related to transistor operation, timing analysis, and digital logic.

What you'll do

Develop hardware specifications based on requirements from cross-functional teams.
Perform schematic capture, circuit design, and define layout and routing constraints.
Develop and implement FPGA and CPLD designs.
Conduct board bring-up, testing, characterization, and system-level debugging.
Perform power and signal integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces.
Debug hardware issues on test boards and production systems.
Use standard lab equipment and test automation scripts to validate hardware.

What we're looking for

BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related degree program with 3 years of experience.
Experience with schematic level board design (preferred).
Understanding board bringup and debug strategies (preferred).
Strong fundamentals in EE concepts including transistor operation, signal integrity, transmission lines, timing analysis, and digital logic (preferred).
RTL experience using Verilog or VHDL, preferably with FPGA design experience (preferred).
Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment including scopes, logic and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, eLoads, and protocol analyzers (preferred).
Test automation expertise using Perl, Tcl, or Python (preferred).
