As a Director Product Engineering within the Customer Support Business Group, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, computer vision, and systems engineering to deliver Dextro™ robotic and automation products. You will manage the entire lifecycle from alpha builds through field sustainment, ensuring quality, reliability, and industrialization using a scalable framework. Your daily responsibilities include overseeing system-level behavior, performing root-cause analysis for field issues, managing project risks, and translating requirements into executable engineering plans. The role requires expertise in physical AI, robotics, and automation within the semiconductor industry. Key technical competencies include proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, and MCAD tools such as Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks. You will drive continuous improvement by utilizing data-driven metrics to optimize design, validation, and release workflows.
Manage the technical activities of hardware, software, and integrated systems design for robotic products.
Lead Dextro production engineering from initial alpha builds through to customer shipments and field sustainment.
Translate product requirements into executable engineering plans with defined schedules, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
Serve as the primary owner for system behavior, including failure modes, serviceability, and lifecycle performance.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues to improve future product designs.
Develop and monitor engineering metrics to identify inefficiencies in design, validation, and release workflows.
Communicate complex technical topics to executive leadership to support decisions on roadmap timing and investment.
Coach and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems disciplines.
What we're looking for
Must have an Engineering degree or foreign equivalent in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Must have 15+ years of relevant experience, or 12 years with a Master’s degree, or 8 years with a PhD.
Must have 10+ years of experience in Engineering.
Must have 8+ years of management experience, including 5+ years leading Engineering teams to design/build Robotic/Automation related products or systems.
Must have 3+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry on global programs or projects.
Must have 3+ years of experience working with technology companies for new product development.
Strong background in physical AI, robotics, automation, and algorithm development.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch (preferred); experience with MCAD tools like Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks (preferred).
