The Director Product Engineering joins the Customer Support Business Group to lead the production engineering of Dextro robotic and automation products. This role involves managing technical activities across hardware, software, and integrated systems design from alpha builds through field sustainment. You will oversee engineering execution, translate product requirements into executable plans, and manage multidisciplinary teams spanning mechanical, electrical, controls, software, computer vision, and systems engineering. Key responsibilities include ensuring quality, reliability, and repeatability while utilizing the PDR scalable framework. Required expertise includes robotics, mechatronics, and semiconductor industry experience. Candidates should possess skills in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, alongside proficiency in MCAD tools such as Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks to solve complex automation and physical AI problems.
Lead and manage the technical activities of hardware, software, and integrated systems design functions.
Direct Dextro™ production engineering from alpha builds through customer shipments and field sustainment.
Translate product requirements into executable engineering plans with clear schedules, resource allocations, and technical ownership.
Identify system-level risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure functional capability and production readiness.
Serve as the engineering owner for system-level behavior, including failure modes, serviceability, and lifecycle performance.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues to engineer improvements back into future product designs.
Develop and maintain engineering metrics to track product readiness, design quality, cycle time, and reliability.
Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and systems engineering.
What we're looking for
Must have an Engineering degree or foreign equivalent in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Must have 15+ years of relevant experience, or 12 years with a Master’s degree, or 8 years with a PhD.
Must have 10+ years of experience in Engineering.
Must have 8+ years of management experience, including 5+ years leading Engineering teams to design/build Robotic/Automation related products or systems.
Must have 3+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry on global programs or projects.
Must have 3+ years of experience working with technology companies for new product development.
Strong background in physical AI, robotics, automation, and algorithm development.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch (preferred).
Experience with MCAD tools such as Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks (preferred).
