TL;DR · Director Pathfinding Solutions

Director Pathfinding Solutions - Integrated Materials Solutions serves as a technically distinguished individual contributor and leader within the Integrated Materials Solutions team. This role focuses on developing next-generation semiconductor process solutions for logic and memory device architectures, specifically targeting N+1 and N+2 technology nodes. The successful candidate will perform hands-on process development across deposition, etch, implant, epitaxy, CMP, and thermal processing to create integrated module flows. Key responsibilities include performing DTCO analysis, translating customer performance targets into actionable solutions, and engaging directly with senior technologists at major semiconductor manufacturers. Required expertise includes device physics, materials science, and advanced architectures like GAA, CFET, 3D DRAM, and NAND. The role requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field and extensive experience in process integration to solve complex manufacturing challenges for the semiconductor industry.

What you'll do

  • Develop and demonstrate integrated pathfinding process solutions for advanced logic and memory device architectures.
  • Perform hands-on process development across deposition, etch, implant, epitaxy, CMP, and thermal processing modules.
  • Identify and de-risk critical integration challenges for N+1 and N+2 technology nodes using DTCO analysis.
  • Translate customer performance targets into actionable internal process solutions and development programs.
  • Coordinate wafer flows and data analysis across multiple business units to create end-to-end process flows.
  • Engage directly with senior customer technologists to present data and align on pathfinding priorities.
  • Establish technical leadership by publishing in premier conferences and building a robust patent portfolio.
  • Influence internal product roadmaps based on pathfinding results and emerging semiconductor trends.

What we're looking for

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related semiconductor discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor process development, integration, or device engineering with expertise in FEOL, MOL, or BEOL technologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing integrated process solutions for advanced logic and memory nodes.
  • Strong publication record at top-tier semiconductor conferences (IEDM, VLSI, IRPS) or a significant patent portfolio.
  • Experience engaging directly with technical teams at major semiconductor manufacturers like IDMs, foundries, and memory makers.
  • Deep understanding of device physics, process-structure-property relationships, and DTCO principles.
  • Experience collaborating with or working at a semiconductor equipment or materials company (preferred).
  • Track record as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff or equivalent technical leadership designation (preferred).
