TL;DR · CPU Debug and Power Management Verification Engineer

The CPU Debug and Power Management Verification Engineer joins the silicon engineering team to focus on auxiliary features of a high-performance ARM-based CPU, including power management, clock control, debug infrastructure, resets, and special-purpose registers. This role involves collaborating with architecture and RTL designers across the product lifecycle from pre-silicon test planning to post-silicon bring-up and debug. Responsibilities include developing test plans, building verification infrastructure like checkers and transactors, analyzing functional coverage, and identifying design issues for resolution. The candidate will utilize SystemVerilog, SVA, C++, Assembly, and scripting languages such as Perl or Python to validate functionality in simulation, emulation, and FPGA environments. Technical expertise includes UVM base testbenches, AXI protocols, UPF low power simulation, and formal verification techniques to ensure robust, low-power, high-performance CPU designs for complex system integration.

What you'll do

  • Verify the functionality of CPU Power Management, clock control, and debug logic.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and schedules across the product lifecycle.
  • Write and debug tests using Assembly, SystemVerilog, SVA, C++, and scripting languages.
  • Build and maintain verification infrastructure including checkers, transactors, and coverage monitors.
  • Analyze functional coverage to ensure complete execution of the test plan.
  • Identify, root-cause, and document design issues while collaborating with RTL teams for fixes.
  • Support SoC-level debug for clock and power integration issues.
  • Perform post-silicon debug using waveform and trace tools across emulation, FPGA, and silicon.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Programming skills in Perl, Python, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience in processor or power management architecture and verification (preferred).
  • Experience with system fabric protocols such as AXI (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge in design verification environments like random constraint verification and/or UVM base testbenches (preferred).
  • Experience in system Verilog assertions, silicon bringup, or UPF and low power simulation (preferred).
  • Experience in processor debug features including hardware trace (preferred).
  • Experience with advanced verification techniques such as formal verification (preferred).
