CMDB Product Owner

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end accountability for the integrity and business value of the enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
• Define and communicate data governance policies, standards, and CI ownership rules using a RACI model.
• Scope the CMDB data model to include only attributes required for incident, change, problem, and risk decisions.
• Monitor data quality metrics and coach stakeholders on governance standards to ensure accuracy and freshness.
• Evolve the CMDB into a service-oriented data model that maps technology to business capabilities and costs.
• Lead the strategy for automated, near-real-time CI discovery across hybrid, multicloud, and ephemeral infrastructure.
• Enforce CI record updates as a mandatory step within the IT change-management lifecycle.
• Provide the trusted data foundation required for AI and agentic automation across Enterprise Service Management.

What we're looking for

• Must have 6+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or data science disciplines.
• Must have 8+ years of ITSM experience in a large, matrixed enterprise with strong ITIL 4 fluency.
• Must have hands-on experience with CMDB or asset/configuration data, including ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery/ITOM.
• Must have a proven record of using AI and agentic AI to modernize IT Service Management practices.
• Must be able to design and maintain data models, quality frameworks, and master/reference data standards for complex datasets.
• Must be able to operate data governance processes including RACI-based ownership, policy definition, and quality monitoring.
• Must have ITIL Foundation certification.
• ITIL Specialist or ITIL 4 Managing Professional certifications are strongly preferred (preferred).
• ServiceNow CSA, Certified Implementation Specialist, or CMDB/Discovery certifications are preferred (preferred).
• A data management or data governance credential, such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional, is preferred (preferred).
