Cloud Database Engineer

What you'll do

• Administer Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases within managed cloud environments.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems to track database health.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across production and non-production environments.
• Perform root cause analysis for performance incidents and technical issues.
• Automate database refresh processes and implement data masking for non-production environments.
• Design and test backup, restore, replication, and failure strategies to meet recovery objectives.
• Partner with security teams to enforce data governance, patching, and access controls.
• Collaborate with developers to modernize deployment automation and data movement architectures.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be located within the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment (preferred).
• Experience with Oracle database administration and cloud platforms like AWS RDS or GCP (preferred).
• Knowledge of database automation, scripting, deployment processes, and observability frameworks (preferred).
• Knowledge of site reliability engineering principles, CI/CD platforms, and Infrastructure as Code (preferred).
• Understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, or HITRUST (preferred).
• Familiarity with change data capture technologies and Kubernetes-based environments (preferred).
