Key requirements include excellent communication skills to explain complicated positions, an entrepreneurial style, and a proficiency with AI tools to address hurdles regarding access to financial systems and economic empowerment.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute strategies to engage with federal officials, congressional staff, and regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a registered lobbyist to advocate for Block's interests on Capitol Hill and within the Administration.
  • Identify creative ways to engage stakeholders and deliver key messaging on critical issues.
  • Maintain expertise in financial regulation, consumer protection, trade, tax, digital assets, AI, and privacy.
  • Track legislative and regulatory activity to develop strategies for positive policy outcomes.
  • Create cohesive and inclusive responses to emerging policy hurdles and challenges.

What we're looking for

  • Must have 8+ years of experience in federal government relations.
  • Preference for experience in the financial services and technology sectors on Capitol Hill or within an Executive Agency.
  • Must be a registered lobbyist for Block to engage with policymakers on Capitol Hill or in the Administration.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to explain complex issues to any audience.
  • Must maintain fluency in financial regulation, consumer protection, trade, tax, digital assets, AI/machine learning, and privacy.
  • Experience navigating complex policy issues and working collaboratively across internal functions is required.
  • Must be an avid user of AI with an eagerness to learn about technology and innovation.
  • Must demonstrate an entrepreneurial style and ability to prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments.
