The Principal Partner Solutions Architect (Public Sector - Fed) joins the Partner Technical Solutions team to serve as a strategic advisor and technical authority for high-value federal and public sector partners. This role involves managing senior relationships with executive stakeholders, leading joint technical strategy sessions, and architecting complex initiatives such as federal cloud migrations, zero-trust observability frameworks, and DevSecOps transformations. The individual will design partner enablement programs, advocate for partner needs to internal product teams, and curate best practices for platform adoption. Key technical competencies include experience with observability tools like Splunk or New Relic, public clouds including AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, containerization via Kubernetes, and configuration management using Terraform or Ansible. The role addresses the specific challenges of federal technology landscapes, including FedRAMP compliance and large-scale infrastructure monitoring for government agencies.
Manage senior technical relationships and serve as a strategic advisor to federal and public sector executive stakeholders.
Lead joint technical strategy sessions and executive business reviews to align product roadmaps with partner goals.
Architect complex initiatives including federal cloud migrations, zero-trust frameworks, and large-scale DevSecOps transformations.
Design and deliver partner enablement programs such as workshops, certifications, and technical deep-dives.
Advocate for partner technical concerns and feature requests to internal Product, Engineering, and Technical Services teams.
Influence the Datadog product roadmap by representing federal partner needs to internal development teams.
Develop and curate best practices for platform adoption and success across the partner ecosystem.
What we're looking for
15+ years of experience in a customer- or partner-facing technical role.
Proven track record building and sustaining C-suite relationships in federal or public sector environments.
Deep familiarity with the federal technology landscape, including procurement cycles and compliance frameworks like FedRAMP, FISMA, and IL5.
Fluency in English is required.
Experience in at least five areas including observability tools, public cloud (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP), containerization, scripting, configuration management, or CI/CD.
Previous experience in a senior technical role at a federal systems integrator, defense contractor, or public sector-focused ISV.
Experience using Datadog and other cloud monitoring tools such as APM, Infrastructure, Logs, Synthetics, and NPM.
Experience with root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, debugging, and scaling partner technical programs.
