Director of State Government Affairs

What you'll do

• Represent company interests before state and local government officials in Texas to advance policy priorities.
• Monitor state and local policies that impact data center facilities, tax, energy, land use, and economic development.
• Manage contract lobbyists and represent corporate interests with external resources like consultants and trade associations.
• Brief and staff senior-level executives on relevant policy issues and business impacts.
• Build and strengthen the company's presence in local communities through partnership with engagement teams.
• Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for policymakers and stakeholders.
• Develop and execute strategies to align state and local policy outcomes with corporate business goals.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in public policy at the state and local level.
• Thorough understanding of technology policy and issues affecting data center development, including tax, energy, and land use.
• Experience working with, serving, and influencing state and local government agencies.
• Established relationships with Texas state and local officials, regulators, and key energy stakeholders like ERCOT and PUCT.
• Experience managing contract lobbyists and representing corporate interests with external resources such as consultants and trade associations.
• Experience briefing and staffing senior-level executives.
• Ability to translate complex policy concepts into understandable terms for policymakers.
• Proven ability to self-direct and manage multiple high-priority issues in a fast-paced environment.
