The Role

The Risk Automation ML team automates Risk and Compliance investigations and decision making at Block through the application of agentic and generative AI technology. We work globally with partners in Product, Engineering and Operations to ensure that we are providing a safe user experience for our customers while minimizing or eliminating bad activity on our platform.

We are leveraging agentic and generative AI as an integral part of our toolkit to fulfill our mission. Block's machine learning systems monitor billions of payment transactions across traditional payment and blockchain networks and surface suspicious activity (fraudulent, suspicious, illegal activity and brand violations) for trained Operations analyst review and decisioning. We are leveraging generative AI to accelerate historically manually intensive analyst workflows; by adding features in the investigative UX to accelerate agent productivity and enable them to make faster, more informed and accurate decisions (aka Copilots). We also automate workflows end to end completely eliminating the need for manual reviews (aka Autopilots).

This is a new and significant opportunity to rethink and optimize Risk Operations at Block at scale. This is an IC role, but the senior level has significant leadership responsibilities that include owning, and driving strategic roadmaps & priorities to completion by collaborating with relevant cross functional stakeholders.

You Will

  • Experiment and deploy AI copilot and autopilot systems at scale to improve analyst productivity and/or eliminate manual decision loops altogether.
  • Own the end to end system including API calls to disparate data sources, advanced prompt tuning, orchestration, metrics and evaluation, productionization and monitoring.
  • Leverage diverse data sets that include payment transactions, connected users and asset graphs, unstructured text data and user profile information to build transformer based ML models to improve downstream detection tasks.
  • Work cross functionally with product, platform, engineering and operational stakeholders to deploy production grade systems and monitor and tune ongoing performance.
  • Use Python ML stack, LLMs, Pytorch, Snowflake, Airflow based tools, data platform and cloud services (both GCP & AWS) to get the job done.
  • Leverage agentic tools (Claude Code/Codex/Openclaw) to supercharge your research, development, devOps and documentation work as part of your day to day.

You Have

  • 8+ years of Machine Learning modeling experience. Full stack ML experience is strongly preferred.
  • A Masters or advanced degree in computer science, data science, operations research, applied math, stats, physics, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ yrs experience with AI engineering, Large language models, and a background in traditional NLP techniques is a strong plus for this role.
  • End to end experience of building and deploying ML/AI to production systems (batch and real time) that are performant at scale.
  • Experience of independently owning, influencing and driving programs with multiple cross functional stakeholders that have significant business impact.
  • Have a curious, growth-oriented mindset and the ability to think in first principles to identify creative solutions that demonstrate value.

The Role

As a member of the SRE team, you will proactively and reactively improve the reliability of Block's platform and critical infrastructure. You are metrics-driven, systems-oriented, and focused on building distributed platforms that enable safe, scalable product development.

The Role

  • Spend ~80% of your week in the field — walking your territory, engaging local businesses, and driving 50–60 targeted business visits each week.

The Role

Block's Total Rewards team is responsible for designing and delivering the global compensation programs that help us attract, retain, and recognize the people who build our products. The Role

The Solutions Engineering team is a trusted engineering resource for Square's largest sellers and partners, helping them architect and develop applications and integrations that enable seamless omnichannel commerce experiences for end-users. The Role

Square is building a best-in-class, high-impact field sales organization, and we are looking for an exceptional Territory Account Executive — someone who consistently exceeds expectations, takes full ownership of their territory, and brings Square’s mission of economic empowerment directly to the businesses that need it most.

This is a field-driven, execution-focused role designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, demanding environments. You will spend most of your week out in the market — meeting businesses, conducting live demos, and closing deals with confidence. The pace is fast, the expectations are high, and your ability to operate strategically and decisively will determine your success.

You will serve as Square’s presence and competitive advantage in one of our highest-opportunity markets — responsible for building pipeline from the ground up, elevating Square’s visibility in your community, establishing high-value partnerships, and helping local businesses grow through our ecosystem of industry-leading software and hardware.

You will:

Lead your market with disciplined, in-person execution

  • Spend ~80% of your week in the field — walking your territory, engaging local businesses, and driving 50–60 targeted business visits each week.
  • Run a full-cycle, self-sourced sales motion: generate leads, identify needs, deliver compelling demos, and close deals across Square’s full product suite.

Establish yourself as the go-to Square expert in your city

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with local sellers by being present, reliable, and value-driven.

Build a high-velocity pipeline from the ground up

Master your verticals and sell with precision

  • Build deep expertise in key verticals — including restaurants, retail, and services — to diagnose challenges and position the right Square solutions.
  • Sell consultatively and competitively, staying proactive and strategic throughout the sales cycle.

Achieve exceptional results in a high-accountability environment

  • Maintain strong operational rigor in Salesforce: track activity, manage pipeline, and forecast accurately.
  • Measure performance frequently and improve continuously.
  • Consistently exceed quota within a culture where high standards are the norm.

You have:

  • 3+ years of sales experience in a full cycle closing role with field sales experience
  • Experience exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem of products, and closing complex deals
  • Ability to drive deals independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Business development experience (e.g. hunting and cold calling)
  • Since this is a field position, you must have reliable transportation and live in the market you are serving
  • A collaborative and team player mentality
  • Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent
  • Even better:

  • 2+ years of payment processing OR related technology (i.e. payroll, loyalty, time management)
