Principal Solutions Architect, Public Sector Federal

What you'll do

• Develop multi-year innovation roadmaps and digital transformation strategies for government and education customers.
• Guide customers through the migration from legacy on-premises or edge cloud technologies to Cloudflare's platform.
• Build and maintain long-term technical relationships with key stakeholders in strategic public sector accounts.
• Lead high-level discussions regarding risk management, security, and infrastructure modernization for agency executives.
• Create and deliver Business Value Assessments to demonstrate the tangible benefits of Cloudflare technology.
• Provide expert consultation throughout the entire engagement lifecycle from initial vision setting to solution design.
• Contribute industry expertise to influence Cloudflare’s go-to-market strategies and platform evolution.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences to increase market authority and footprint.

What we're looking for

• Must have 15+ years of experience in Technical Sales, Engineering, and/or first-hand industry experience (preferred).
• Ability to engage across technical domains and communicate risk management impacts to government stakeholders.
• Experience designing architecture, migration, and implementation of cloud, edge, and on-premises technologies from legacy providers.
• Knowledge of government and industry standards, frameworks, and compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, SOX, FEDRAMP, GDPR, and NIS2 (preferred).
• Ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of both business strategy and technology at a deep level.
• Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
