The AVP Release Train Engineer / Senior Program Manager joins the Enterprise Program Management Office to provide strategic leadership for enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This role combines Agile leadership with Technical Program Management to drive delivery across Technology Infrastructure and Operations. Key responsibilities include facilitating Agile Release Train events like PI Planning, managing large-scale program portfolios, and removing delivery impediments. You will coordinate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Technology Leads to manage backlogs, monitor team velocity, and ensure SDLC compliance. Required skills include proficiency with JIRA, JQL, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools like Cursor AI. The position requires deep experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs, navigating complex organizational structures, and managing financial services regulatory and compliance requirements to align technology roadmaps with business priorities.
Facilitate Agile Release Train events including PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
Coordinate with Scrum Masters to identify dependencies, mitigate risks, and resolve cross-team blockages.
Manage large-scale programs to ensure scope, timeline, budget, and risk are effectively governed.
Provide transparent executive-level status reporting and dashboards for technology and business leadership.
Monitor team velocity and burn rates to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure successful testing and deployment of new features.
Remove delivery impediments by coordinating across teams, leaders, and external stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and artifact compliance requirements.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in Agile delivery leadership as a Release Train Engineer and Program Manager within a large enterprise.
8+ years of experience facilitating Agile Release Trains (SAFe RTE certification strongly preferred).
5+ years of experience with executive presence and the ability to influence SVPs and C-level leaders.
5+ years of experience with a deep understanding of technology, operations, and large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
Strong working knowledge of JIRA, JQL, Confluence, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience using AI Tools like Cursor AI to incorporate efficiencies in project management.
MBA or Master's degree (preferred); PMP, PgMP, or SAFe certifications (preferred); knowledge of financial services regulatory and compliance requirements (preferred).
