JOB TITLE: Agile Coach and Release Train Engineer
The Agile Coach and Release Train Engineer serves as a servant leader and chief coach for the Agile Release Train. You will drive organizational transformation by facilitating Program Increment Planning, managing program-level risks, and resolving cross-team dependencies to ensure continuous flow. Your daily responsibilities include mentoring Product Managers and System Architects, leading SAFe training workshops, and establishing lean agile routines for integration and continuous development. You will utilize frameworks including Scaled Agile (SAFe), Scrum, and Kanban, alongside tools like Jira and ServiceNow. The role requires expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle, DevSecOps, and delivery automation. You will solve complex execution problems by translating real-world needs into technical specifications and roadmaps to support mission-critical systems for the warfighter.
Facilitate and execute Program Increment (PI) Planning for the Agile Release Train.
Manage program-level risks and resolve cross-team dependencies to ensure continuous flow.
Mentor team members, Product Managers, System Architects, and Scrum Masters on Lean-Agile mindsets.
Deliver SAFe training and workshops including Leading SAFe and Value Stream Identification.
Establish lean agile routines and practices for integration, continuous development, and DevSecOps.
Track ART metrics regarding PI commitments, pace, continuous improvement, and quality.
Lead discussions with executive leads and management to drive organizational transformation.
Translate real-world needs into execution roadmaps and technical specifications.
What we're looking for
3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering or Software Development Life Cycle, enterprise Agile delivery tools, and managing multi-team Agile execution.
Experience operating as an RTE or Lead Coach, facilitating PI Planning, tracking ART metrics, and managing risk mitigation and cross-team dependencies.
Experience coaching and mentoring technology leaders through enterprise Agile transformations using SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
Ability to lead discussions with executives, system architects, product managers, and team leads.
Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Associate’s degree with 5+ years of IT project experience, Bachelor’s with 3+ years, or Master’s with 1+ year of IT project experience.
Ability to obtain an IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+, Cloud+) within 30 days of hire.
Agile Certification such as SAFe RTE, SAFe SPC, PMI-ACP, or PMP (preferred).
