Frequently asked questions
Is FindRole free?
Yes. Searching, browsing, saving jobs, and AI Match are free with an account.
Where do the jobs come from?
FindRole aggregates roles from many sources and curates them for tech and software positions, then enriches each listing for better search and matching.
How is FindRole's search different from other job boards?
Two ways. The corpus is curated — US tech and software roles only, with each listing enriched so filters like seniority, salary and location actually work. And AI Match runs real hybrid search over the full job description: learned-sparse retrieval plus dense embeddings, then a cross-encoder rerank against your resume. It finds roles that fit the work you do even when the title uses different words.
Simple Search is the quick, no-account way in — a literal title filter, newest first. See Search tips for which to use when.
Do I have to upload my resume?
No, but it unlocks AI Match, which ranks every role against your actual experience.
Can I practise for the interview?
Yes. Interview Prep runs a practice interview for a job you've saved: an AI hiring manager reads that posting against your resume, asks six questions aimed at the gaps between them, follows up when an answer dodges, and then writes up what was strong, what an interviewer would push back on, and what to study. It's part of AI Match.
Why do I need an account to use AI Match?
AI Match is personalized, so it has to store data that belongs to you — your resume (and the embeddings we compute from it), your boost/negative keywords and filters, and the jobs and companies you save as favorites. An account is what keeps that data yours from one visit to the next and powers your weekly job alerts. The browse features — Simple Search, Company Search, and Map Search — need no account.
Can I get notified about new roles?
Yes — signed-in users can opt into weekly job alerts that email the best new matches for their profile.
How do I apply to a job?
Each listing links out to the employer's application page. FindRole helps you find and evaluate roles; you apply directly with the company.
How do I delete my account?
Visit your profile settings and choose Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what that removes.
