The VP, Head of Engineering Practice leads engineering initiatives, shared services, and foundational frameworks to drive innovation across the organization. This leader is responsible for establishing engineering policies, promoting modern development practices, and overseeing the creation of reusable libraries, templates, and frameworks. The role involves spearheading the design of cloud-native, API-first applications while driving adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability. Key technical requirements include expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and relational or non-relational databases, alongside experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures. The position also focuses on integrating GenAI capabilities into engineering workflows and building AI-driven applications. Define and execute the engineering strategy for shared services and core infrastructure initiatives.
Establish engineering policies, standards, and best practices across the entire organization.
Create reusable libraries, templates, and frameworks to accelerate development across multiple teams.
Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native, API-first applications.
Drive the adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability practices.
Integrate AI and GenAI capabilities into engineering workflows and product offerings.
Oversee architecture decisions to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and business goals.
Build, mentor, and lead a team of junior engineers while promoting knowledge sharing.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum 15 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role.
Proven track record of leading large engineering teams and delivering complex enterprise solutions.
Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and relational/non-relational databases.
Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, API-first design, microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and related services.
Experience in Insurance P&C domain is strongly preferred.
