Stationary Engineer

What you'll do

• Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and distribution lines for steam and heated water.
• Maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components to control temperature and air conditioning systems.
• Perform maintenance on air compressors, gas distribution lines, and fuel oil systems including pumps and controls.
• Repair and maintain water treatment systems, filtration units, piping, and sprinkler systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, engines, circuit diagnostics, and motor controls like VFDs.
• Maintain building automation systems for HVAC, lighting, and other controlled mediums via consoles and sensors.
• Manage sanitary sewer systems, sump pumps, grease traps, and plumbing fixtures to ensure clear flow.
• Perform inventory control of parts and materials required for ongoing maintenance and repairs.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a member of the local union or willing to join upon acceptance.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating building mechanical systems is required.
• Knowledge of boiler operations, HVAC systems, and building automation is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is required.
• EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification (preferred).
• Additional trade certifications in electrical or plumbing (preferred).
• Experience with CMMS, energy management, and sustainability practices (preferred).
