Critical Environment Operating Engineer

What you'll do

• Operate and maintain critical building systems including UPS, generators, cooling systems, and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime.
• Monitor and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, and piping for optimal performance.
• Record equipment readings and analyze system operations to identify malfunctions and perform immediate corrective actions.
• Manage work orders through a CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets promptly.
• Follow emergency escalation procedures and respond to site emergencies to protect critical infrastructure.
• Maintain safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials while ensuring the workplace complies with all safety standards.

What we're looking for

• Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility environment.
• Must have experience with mission-critical systems including UPS, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to document activities and communicate technical information.
• Must be proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 feet, work at heights, and navigate rooftops.
• Must have the flexibility to work different schedules, including holidays, and respond to site emergencies.
• Experience with Corrigo, EPA 608 certification, or NFPA 70E training (preferred).
• Background in industrial controls, building automation systems, or relevant trade certifications (preferred).
