As a Technical Services Engineer, you will join the Technical Services team to advise customers and resolve complex problems across the entire MongoDB ecosystem, including database servers, drivers, cloud infrastructure, Atlas, and Cloud Manager. You will work with large customers to solve issues regarding architecture, performance, recovery, and security while advocating for customer needs to product teams. Your daily work involves troubleshooting mission-critical production systems, developing internal support tools, and mentoring new team members. The role requires expertise in Linux systems administration, networking protocols like DNS and TCP/IP, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will utilize skills in Kubernetes orchestration, database administration for RDBMS or NoSQL systems, and scripting in languages like Python or Go to manage large-scale databases and ensure high availability and scalability.

What you'll do

Resolve complex customer issues regarding architecture, performance, recovery, and security for the MongoDB ecosystem.
Provide expert guidance on standard methodologies for running MongoDB at scale across various infrastructures.
Advocate for customer needs by collaborating with internal product management and development teams.
Develop software tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics to improve internal support capabilities.
Mentor and train new team members on technical processes and product knowledge.
Troubleshoot mission-critical production systems across Linux, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and Kubernetes environments.
Analyze system issues holistically from the application tier down to storage and infrastructure layers.

What we're looking for

Candidates must have 5-6 years of total engineering experience.
Candidates must have experience in Tech Support or System Administration.
Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills are required, including performance, networking, and storage management.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex mission-critical production systems is required.
Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
Experience operating, managing, or troubleshooting Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms is required.
Familiarity with database administration concepts across RDBMS and/or NoSQL systems is required.
Basic scripting or coding ability and comfort reading production code are required.
