As a Technical Sales Engineer - Spring Co-op Sales Program 2027, you will join the Global Markets organization to help clients solve business challenges using IBM solutions. You will participate in discovery sessions to understand technical requirements, design solution approaches, and build demonstrations or proofs of concept. Your daily work involves translating complex technical concepts into clear business value through storytelling and documentation while supporting customer adoption and removing technical barriers. The role requires foundational knowledge of cloud computing, AI, automation, data, or cybersecurity. You should possess experience with programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++, and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools. You will collaborate with technical specialists and partners to identify growth areas and provide innovative ideas to accelerate client success and solution adoption.
Participate in client discovery sessions to understand business objectives and technical requirements.
Design and validate technical solution approaches across AI, cloud, data, and security capabilities.
Build and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations to showcase solution functionality.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support customer adoption by defining use cases and removing technical barriers to deployment.
Collaborate with sales and technical specialists to progress opportunities and identify growth areas.
Present technical findings and solution recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Must be an actively enrolled undergraduate or graduate university student graduating between December 2027 and August 2028.
Must be eligible and available for full-time work (40 hours a week) during the fall semester of 2026 without being enrolled in classes.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
Must have foundational knowledge of cloud computing, software development, AI, automation, data, or cybersecurity.
Must have experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, or similar.
Must have experience using AI-assisted development tools to prototype, build, or troubleshoot applications.
Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Must have leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, competitions, or community involvement (preferred).
